14 Students Enroll in First Ely Diesel Technology Class

14 Students Enroll in First Ely Diesel Technology Class graphic.The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development approved funding for GBC to offer a diesel technology associate degree and certificate program in Ely beginning this month.

The funding from the NGOED will cover tuition costs for the participating students through June 2019.

Students completed orientation and began class Tuesday, January 22.

GBC is pleased to announce a total of 14 students enrolled in the program; eight students from White Pine High School and six members of the community.

This semester students will focus on shop practices, basic engines, vehicle electronics and maintenance welding.

GBC would like to thank the many industry, community, and individual supporters of the Ely diesel program including White Pine County School District and White Pine County High School for the use of their facilities.
